Contraption: The Giant Chain-Reaction Machine Event

Contraption was a mega event in the mechanical section. It brought the famous chain-reaction machine, where one mechanism sets off the next, to a live audience for the first time at Technovanza.

The idea

Many people have watched videos of long chain-reaction machines. Contraption let visitors watch the entire sequence unfold in front of them, with the organisers inviting them to see what deliberate over-engineering could produce.
