"Charger" - The word itself makes us think of a long cord attached to the plug point. But wired transfer of electricity is a huge cause for losses, not to mention the complexity and danger involved.

Why not do away with wires then?

In the ‘Wireless World’ everything becomes wireless .Here, we charge cell phones wirelessly. Yes, it’s possible.

It simply uses the principle of electromagnetic induction. When supply is given to one coil (transmitter coil) it resonates at particular frequency and it radiates magnetic field. This magnetic field links with another coil (receiver coil) which will be resonating at same frequency. The emf induced in that coil and energy will be transferred. In the mobile there will be an inbuilt receiver coil which charges the mobile without charging cord.

In the future this technology will spur new inventions such as there will be no need for wires. Many electronic appliances such as TV, laptops, washing machine, tube lights, bulbs, mp3 players will work entirely without wires.
