India,in recent years is being globally recognized as a future superpower.But while marching its way to the dreamed ‘India 2020’,one of the major problems to be taken care of is a traffic problem. We can get rid of it by providing more and more means or options of transport and increasing the transport in coastal regions also in a view to improve the connectivity and boost the tourism industry. At the same time ,one should bear in mind that all this should be achieved with as much preservation of environment as possible and at minimum expenditure of money and resources. In our sincere efforts to find such novel mean of transport, we, the students of VJTI ,come up here, with the idea of ‘Amphitrain’,a train which can travel on land as well as in water. The mechanism of operation of such a train will be a wise blend of suitably modified mechanisms used for ships and trains respectively, and will be a real challenge for engineers. |
